Reviews from our Guests
“Mom looked sooo relaxed after her trip! She came to visit right afterwards, and we had the most fun in years talking about it!”

"The whole trip was over the top wonderful in every way. I've been sketching here, trying this and that, from photos, from memory, from my surroundings, but nothing compares to being there in the Dordogne region. What comes to mind most often is the view from my window every morning. Such peace! Time stood still. I loved it."
"Thank you for assigning me the beautiful room at the chateau. It was the biggest, most elegant bedroom I've ever slept in. The entire trip was life changing for me.
I admire your composure and graceful execution of the tour. It boggled my mind to think of the details and hard work that went into the trip.
Now I'm eager to hear your ideas for next year."

“You sent Suzanne K. back to us 10 years younger, filled with energy, enthusiasm, chatter, disbelief, joy, creative inspiration and spirited determination…She just couldn't say enough good about her experience. WOW! Brava and brava and brava!”

"It was the best tour I've ever been on..
My friend and I participated in the first 10 day Sketchy Tour in June 2012. When we arrived at the chateau we were treated to a welcome party where we met Chaucer, Beth and Marianne and the other guests in our group. The chateau was built in three sections 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. It is very beautiful and comfortable and there is a bonus of a swimming pool. Our room overlooked a grassy esplanade surrounded by a walnut grove. It looked like a setting of a Jane Austen novel. Our hosts had researched all the sites on our itinerary. We visited and sketched at many chateaux, fortresses, ancient villages and ruins. We were very comfortable driving through the beautiful countryside with its vineyards and hayfields. The group was very congenial and we enjoyed many happy times and meals at home and the occasional meal at a restaurant or a banquet.
My favorite treat was a chocolate croissant delivered by the bakery at 8:00 am every morning for breakfast."

"Going to France with Sketchy Tours was one of the most enriching experiences I have ever had. Not only did it give me a whole new perspective on sketching and personally documenting my travels, but it inspired me beyond belief. Now I bring my sketchbook everywhere I go and I love sitting down and taking the time to draw something that a photograph or aural story could never capture. In addition, my time in France cultivated my other artwork as well. I'm finding that through my own studies, and also through my Advanced Placement art class, I can see numerous elements of France in my work. The people and the experience of Sketchy Tours were truly unforgettable, and I would jump at any chance to go back."
