The Chateau
The chateau is located near the beautiful riverside town of Lalinde which resides on the banks of the Dordogne River. This charming estate is a step into the 16th century, and yet there is a modern bathroom in nearly every bedroom. Set in a huge walnut orchard, this property has a tower dating back to the 12th century, and a magical 'secret' garden. The helpful owners live in a separate wing of the Château. One enters through an ancient courtyard into the dining room, a sitting room and an adjoining salon. French doors open to a large formal garden. A third gated garden hosts a salt water solar heated pool and shady wisteria trellis . There is a large modern kitchen and adjoining breakfast room with access to the courtyard. It's so lovely you may want to take the day off and spend it sketching here.
