Sample Itinerary for Dordogne Sketchy Tours
Itinerary
If your vacation begins in the United States you’ll need to depart one day before your arrival in France because of the time change. Sketchy Tours Staff will help you make travel arrangements to fit the schedule.
The tour itself will begin in Bordeaux and on to the Chateau where we will stay for the entire tour and take day trips to the surrounding countryside. Upon arrival at the Chateau everyone will settle into their accommodations, tour the grounds, and rest until a welcome buffet dinner. Tired travelers can go to sleep anytime.
The first morning is usually a slow start to allow everyone to adjust to the new time zone and the day will be spent getting familiar with the property, your fellow guests, and the local village. This first full day features two orientation discussions about art and culture.
Beginning on day two the tour will consist of short day ventures into the countryside to explore the treasures of this region. The order of these excursions will coordinate with local market days, available reservation dates, and the weather. You are always welcome to opt out of a day’s touring and spend it at the Chateau to rest, sketch, read, or walk in the countryside.
